PlayMaker Award

The PlayMaker Award from SportsLeader UK is a great introduction into leadership for learners aged nine and over. The award aims to help learners develop leadership skills such as organisation, communication and teamwork, as well as helping to develop confidence and self-esteem.

Age: Nine and over
Tutored hours: Six

The PlayMaker Award focuses on specific skills such as communicating, the organisation of people and equipment, and the use of space. The award breaks leadership down into its constituent parts and teaches these topics through a practical, activity based, holistic approach. This means the PlayMakers ‘learn by doing’ and, by the end of the course, will have the skills to set up simple games and/or activities that they are familiar with and they will feel confident when assisting leading a small group of peers or younger children under direct supervision.

Primary School Sport and PE Funding

At E3Adventures we believe that the PlayMaker award is ideally suited for delivery to year 5 and 6 pupils and meets many of the funding suggestions and best practice guidelines for the ‘Primary School Sport and PE Funding’

  1. Pupils achieve a nationally recognised award from SportsLeader UK
  2. It develops a range of ‘life skills’ such as Leadership, Communication and Teamwork.
  3. It develops confidence and self esteem in preparation for the transition from year 6 to year.
  4. It can empower young people to help and volunteer at sporting events within their community
